Thank you for your comment, Dr. Acharya. I agree with you that veneers are the ideal treatment plan and that is the goal in this case. However, the patient is an executive director of a major beauty pagaent and very concerned about his appearance on stage, although he does not have the finances now to do the veneers and he asked if we could do a minimal amount of cosmetic contouring to improve the shapes of the teeth and lessen the interincisal distance. So that is why we did just a bit of cosmetic contouring. Nevertheless, the purpose of this video was to show an economic method of doing a trial smile and using the soft white wax is quick and serves the purpose for the economically challanged patient.

I thought the estetic contouring was unproductive for this case. A mock up or a chairside composite add-on would have shown that veneers would be the only way to go

The wax is called rope wax and get it in white...from Modern Materials or Hygienic companies. a good website showing what is available is: http://www.net32.com/ec/wax-rope-waxes-l-521-664 ... the marking pens are from Masel Orthodontics and is listed on my Xpert page under supplies I use on the bottom left of the page. very good diagnostic trick using the wht. ortho wax. much less time than comp.-gary toogood
