Omar, Thank you- The Zirconia abutments are final in most cases - the purpose of the acrylic in the help with additional shaping- contouring of the gingival margin-it you notice the cervical portion of the provisional is concave to slide under the tissue- If you a satisfied with the contour of the "camelback", yes you can go ahead with the final , however I have found the patient with thin biotype will require additional tissue contouring.

Thank you very much for this interesting lecture...but what is the point of using the temporary zironia implant abutments for temporary restorations, why not use the camelback for provisionalisation, and if the papilla is expected to fill the embrassure, why not delivering the final restoration straight after 3 months of camelback...and waiting the papilla to fill the embrassure within 2-3 weeks...in otherwords what is the importance of the acrylic crowns in the interim period?and what if i didn't use them...again thank you very much

Shane,
I Do use an 8mm punch but only about 2-3 mm deep- however I also use a 15 blade to modify my graft

IS the "Lid-graft" just a FGG? Could you just use a tissue punch the size of the site to harvest this?

Connective Tissue Graft Using Alloderm
Gingival recession is a clinical condition encountered in many dental practices during routine patient care. Fortunately, there are a variety of surgical procedures that the clinician can use to address gingival recession and return the patient to optimal health and aesthetics. As dental professionals gain a higher awareness of the available surgical materials and restorative techniques, the success and predictability of treatment for gingival recession on single and multiple adjacent teeth has…

The Endentulous Ridge in Fixed Prosthodontics
In those clinical situations in which missing teeth are replaced with fixed prosthodontics, the clinician is faced with the task of fabricating the pontics to fulfill the requirements of esthetics, form and function, and oral physiotherapy. The relationship of the "dummy tooth", or pontic to the underlying ridge is inordinately complex, since the esthetic requirements invariably conflict with those of function and hygiene. Although pontic designs have been discussed in some depth in the literature,…
