According to the "overbuilding" procedure, don't you consider that in order to prevent the expectable collapse, especially in the aesthetic zone, a CTG would be the best option for all immediate, early and delayed implant placement? Thank you very much

Hi Everyone, Sorry for my delayed response. Just returned from Riyadh, KSA. Thank you for all your positive comments...we are still trying to find the answers through continued clinical research. The answer some of the Qs: [1] The provisional restoration acts to protect, contain, and maintain the bone graft + blood clot during the healing phase - hence the term 'prosthetic socket seal'. [2] All B-L changes...we did not look at vertical changes and I made mention in the lecture that we can manage vertical changes through crown/abutment contour...however, we can't manage B-L changes so easily especially if we have significant collapse with gingival tissue discoloration. [3] Again, the provisional or contoured healing abutment [Group 3] which Maurice had much of that data set contains the graft material so membranes are not necessary. [4] Always place a bone graft into the gap to prevent the B-L contour collapse. If you are treating a lateral incisor and there is no gap to place the graft then that's ok. Excellent presentation. Is it necessary for the graft material to be protected by a membrane? If so, could you please describe the technique for stabilising the membrane?
