This presentation reviews the definition, diagnosis and some current treatment modalities of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis. Our current understanding of preventive measures and a suggested maintenance protocol for implant patients is outlined.

are the exposed threads removed with the handpiece before treating the implant surfaces or that is not necessary. How about tetracycline paste/solution for surface decontamination. Also if one uses air abratson or prophy jet , what is the most efficient method to clean the particle out of the wound. Thanks for your presentation.

But how about of using laser?
Our office had machine, but the long term results should be observed?

Following tooth extraction and immediate implant installation, the edentulous site of the alveolar process undergoes substantial bone modeling and the ridge dimensions are reduced. Five beagle dogs about 1 year old were used. The 4th premolar in both quadrants of the mandible were selected and used as experimental sites.The outline of the marginal hard tissue of the control sites was markedly different from that of the grafted sites.

Influence of a Nanometer-Scale Surface Enhancement on De Novo Bone Formation on Titanium Implants
In this prospective randomized controlled clinical study, small titanium implants were placed in posterior maxillae for the purpose of assessing the rate and extent of new bone development. Nine pairs of site evaluation implants were placed in posterior areas of maxillae and retrieved with trephine drills after 4 or 8 weeks of unloaded healing.
