Nice video Yvan, on bone grafting. My question relates to the provisional prosthetics for a full arch edentulous maxilla. What provisional prostheses is the patient wearing after the maxilla is grafted, given you wish to avoid pressure to the graft ?

A Recent paper by Pommer in 2008 states that new safety margins should be considered. In fact some of my cases have had some sensibility problems even using the 5mm rule. I have asked myself why?? a thousand times. Regards

Nice surgeries thank God there are oral surgeons around that see all this complicated extreme cases but by doing these huge grafts doesnt¨he looses attached gingiva? Wonder if he does any soft tussue grafts afterwards?¡¡¡

Dysesthesia is common following this harvest technique but returns after several months time. The Pikos rule of 5 is best to stay away from the mental foramen, border of the chin base and the apical roots of the lower incisors by a minimum of 5mm. Other than this there is no way to avoid these post-op complications with chin harvest.

Good work Yvan. Have you ever experienced any Dysesthesia / Paresthesia in the symphysis after block harvest?? & how would you avoid it apart from leaving a safe distance from the incisor root tips.
